Abstract

On April 11, 2023, (747) Winchester occulted UCAC4 487-057733 (TYC 346-728-1) as observed from the University of Maryland Astronomy Observatory in College Park, MD, and from the University of Virginia Department of Astronomy in Charlottesville, VA. The stellar extinctions observed by the two sites are consistent with the target being a double star of magnitudes 9.9 and 11.1, separated by 77.6 mas at P.A. 179 deg. The star is a hitherto unknown double star.
