Study of the binary UCAC4 561-133587 discovered by asteroid occultation
Keywords:
asteroid occultation, binary starAbstract
UCAC4 561-133587 is a binary star system recently identified through the occultation of the Trojan asteroid (2363) Cebriones on 2022 July 2. The system comprises two components separated by just 0.009 arcseconds, with apparent magnitudes of 15.16 and 15.77, respectively. In this study, I analyze combined photometric data from the literature, incorporating Gaia parallax measurements and differential magnitudes, to derive individual astrophysical parameters, including apparent and absolute magnitudes, spectral types, effective temperatures (Teff), surface gravities (log g), and more. Furthermore, I estimate the physical separation and projected orbital period of the binary, assuming the two stars are gravitationally bound.
